Holy crap! I've never really looked at poker supplies before since I don't play the game. On a whim, I was looking at some of these poker tables. They are NICE. I'm sure they could be used for other card games too. It would be so cool to have one of those in a game room or something. Granted, I need a game room or a finished basement or a room large enough to fit one of those tables that isn't my living room. But that would still be pretty cool and it would be large enough for a fairly good game of pinochle or even go fish. (What can I say, I'm a mom...go fish is a big game in my life nowadays.)
Too bad we don't have any space in our current house for one. And we don't really have any friends that play card games. Video games, yes. Card games, not so much. Though I suppose if you get one of the plainer tables, it could be pretty good for board games. Just about everyone should be able to reach the board then. That's always one of our biggest problems. Our dining room table is too big for board games. The people that sit on the sides of the table can play just fine but those on the ends can't reach the board or the cards or the playing pieces. One of those tables would be a lot better.

Back before we bought our house, my husband and I hated apartment hunting. It's almost impossible to find something large enough for your needs yet still affordable. I know we're not the only ones that had problems. College students probably have it the worst since they need to look for new housing every year. Unless they stay in the apartment during the summer, they have no reason to extend the lease longer than the semester.
At one point, my husband and I were looking to move out of the area since it's so expensive here. We were looking at Atlanta Apartments. It's amazing how inexpensive it is to live in a lot of the southern cities. There are actually places in Atlanta where you can get a 2 bedroom apartment for about $600. That would cost at least $1200 around here. We should probably look into moving to another part of the country. The Philadelphia area is really, extremely expensive.

He definitely has an interesting sound. There are some comparisons to Dave Matthews and John Mayer on the CDBaby website and I don't disagree with them. Though I think I hear a bit more early John Cougar Mellencamp than Dave Matthews in him. Like "Jack and Diane"-era Mellencamp.
I'd really like to know what he'd sound like if he got a background band to go with him. This CD is mostly just him and his guitar. Not that that is a bad thing. He sounds really good with just a guitar but I'd like to hear the song be a bit fuller. Maybe a good drum line with just a tad of bass. Ooh, maybe even a background singer on a couple of these songs. Just something to give them a little more oomph.
Overall, it's a pretty good CD. If you're into the more folksy type of soft pop music, give it a try. Chances are you'll find yourself a new musician to enjoy. And who knows, maybe one day you can say "I knew him before he was at the top of the charts!"
The new jdorama fall season has started. There are a couple of shows I'm really looking forward to watching. There's Galileo with Kitamura Kazuki, Joshi Deka! with Nakama Yukie, Mop Girl with Kitagawa Keiko....I have a whole list of them. Hopefully I'll get the time to watch all of them ^_^

Undercover Condoms, which is probably the best name ever for a condom store, sells all sorts of adult items. Obviously the sell condoms but they also sell Astroglide, ovulation kits and pregnancy tests. I do have to wonder how many people buy some of this stuff though. When I was in college, we got free samples of the female condom. That thing is huge and scary. I never actually used it but I took it out of the package to see what it looked like. I think there were three in the pack I got. After opening one and just looking at it, the rest went in my desk drawer in case someone else wanted to use it. So I kinda wonder who actually buys that. It would be a lot easier to just buy a male condom. I can't imagine the sensation would be all that different no matter which person is putting it on.

Seiyu is the Japanese subsidiary of the U.S. company Wal-Mart. On Monday, Wal-Mart announced that they will take full ownership of the failing company. They currently own a 50.9 percent stake in Seiyu and will be paying 140 yen (~$1.23) for each share they do not currently own.
It will be interesting to see where this goes. Seiyu is a recognized name in Japan so I don't think that Wal-Mart will be changing it. However, I think that the name may have some negative connotations since the business isn't doing so well. I guess we'll see if Wal-Mart's management style will be able to save the company.
I know there are a lot of people who, like I used to, live from paycheck to paycheck. It's always difficult when something unexpected pops up.
