I know I haven't posted here in a really long time. But since my last post was pimping my online singing group, I only figured it was fair to pimp another one here too ^_^
Sekai no Melody is a multi-cultural singing organization. That means they sing songs that are in languages other than Japanese (most cover groups only cover Japanese songs) and that there are multiple groups. So you aren't locked into one specific group and left there. You can sign up for tons of other projects as well. Of all of the cover groups I've been in, this one is, by far, my favorite!
Sakurairo is a new cover band. Right now I have three groups that I would like to fill. If I get a ton of auditions, I do have other groups I can use so please don't let these three stop you from submitting an audition! After all, the more the merrier!
The groups:
JEX - A group of 4 or 5 females that will cover songs by Johnny's Jimusho bands. Arashi, KAT-TUN, NEWS and others. Requires at least one person rapping.
Tsuki no Yume - A group of 3 or 4 people that will cover songs by Gackt, L'arc~en~Ciel, Do As Infinity and others.
Hakumei - A group of 3 or 4 people that will cover songs by Mika Nakashima, BoA, Chieco Kawabe and others.
How to audition:
Please send a 30 second to 1 minute clip of you singing any song in Japanese.
If you wish to audition to be one of the JEX rappers, please download this clip: http://rapidshare.com/files/80850793/JEXrap.zip.html Submit a clip of you performing this rap in addition to your singing audition.
Audition clips can be in any format but mp3s will be required for group recordings.
Include a .txt file with your username, email address, AIM/MSN/Yahoo IM username
Email audition clips and text file to kasandora@gmail.com with the subject Sakurairo audition
And make sure to sign up at our forums: http://thegeekwithin.com/sakurairo/forum/index.php?action=forum
I finally got to watch Stardust last night. I thought it was a really good movie. There didn't seem to be any slow points in the plot, though the ending was a little rushed. There isn't even anything that I can think of that I disliked. It may not be a movie for everyone...it does kinda verge on the edge of "chick flick" but my husband enjoyed it so it can't be that much of a click flick.
When I was a kid, my family used to go tubing down the Delaware River. For those of you that don't know what tubing is, you basically sit in an inner tube and float down the river. There are different sized tubes for kids and adults. I seem to remember that there were even some double tubes so two people could stay together and not worry about floating apart. The Delaware is a fairly calm river so it's fun for the entire family.
I wonder about white water rafting though. There's a family trip down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River where you can take a week-long family trip. I'm not a big fan of water so white water rafting most likely isn't something I'd actually do. But it's nice to think about it and pretend I'm brave enough to head down the river.
I wouldn't mind trying the fishing but I've never done fly fishing before. I'm pretty good at regular old fishing. I've never had to do the fly fishing though. I'm not even sure I could learn how to do it without hurting someone. It always seems so dangerous to be throwing a fishing hook around like that.
This weekend was interesting. I went to Atlantic City with my mom and my sister. My sister made all of the arrangements and didn't bother to check to see what performers were in town. So we ended up at the Trump Plaza....where the Hannah Montana concert was taking place. It didn't interrupt our little jaunt too much but it meant that there were a LOT of pre-teen girls all over the place.
Overall, it was a good time. It was just weird seeing kids at a casino.
My bedroom has hardwood floors. Now that winter is here, it is so difficult to get out of bed in the morning and step on the cold wood in my bare feet. I really need to look at some rugs. Not only will it keep my toes warm, it will also keep the room warmer.
I don't deal well with the cold. Since I live in the northeast United States, it starts getting cold around October or November and doesn't warm up until March or April. And even then it's not really "warm." I need it to be HOT. This, of course, annoys my husband who prefers cold weather. I swear he wants icicles to hang from my nose.
Yes, I know an area rug won't turn the cold winter weather into beautiful summer weather, it will make my life a bit more bearable. Especially since my husband doesn't really want me sleeping in sweatpants, sweatshirt and fuzzy socks. Ooh, I should find a rug that will lead from my bedroom all the way to the bathroom, where there's a carpet. (Don't ask why the bathroom is carpeting and the hallway isn't. The house came like that and we haven't had the chance to fix it.)
Who is ringing in the New Year with you? Who do you wish could be with you, but isn't there?
I woke up my daughter and together we watched the ball in NYC drop on Dick Clark's New Year show. My husband was in the room but he was playing World of Warcraft or something. There isn't anyone else I'd rather spend the new year with.
